Virtual Events save time, cut costs, and banish travel headaches for you, your attendees, and speakers. Plus the beauty of our virtual events platform means you can measure everything from registrations to session and sponsor views, generate leads with live chat and even deliver CPD training with surveys and polls. All without going outside.

What Is A Virtual Event?

“A virtual event is a large online event that involves people interacting on the web, rather than meeting in a physical location. Virtual events often include multiple keynote speakers, breakout sessions and sponsor-led discussions. Virtual events can use live or pre-recorded video streams as well as slide-based presentations.”

Whether it’s a global conference, product launch, open day or trade show, virtual events allow you to replicate the benefits, look, feel and interactivity of a traditional physical event, but over the internet. All your attendees need to take part in your virtual event is an internet connection.

Physical events can even include a virtual element. This can be a great way to boost attendee numbers (by up to 25%)  with an online-access pass or provide the in-person attendees with on-demand content long after they leave.

The Benefits Of Running A Virtual Event

Generate Leads

Delivering engaging and valuable content during virtual events is a sure-fire way to generate fresh leads. With your content matching their needs, they’ll become your hottest prospects in no time at all.

Additional Sponsorship Revenue

Boost sponsorship revenues with bespoke designed events. From headline sponsors to exhibitor packages and advertising opportunities, your virtual event provides a number of ways to generate revenue.

Avoid Cancellation

Recent events have highlighted how uncertain planning physical events can be. With a virtual event, your show can go on. Without the need for travel your speakers can present remotely and attendees can participate from wherever they are.

Attendee Analytics

With streamGo’s virtual event reporting, you can see exactly who’s attending your event, what they are watching, what pages they’ve visited and how engaged they are. You can use this insight to tailor the perfect follow-up campaign.

Boost Engagement

Interact with your attendees using polls, surveys and live chat. Use these tools to answer questions, qualify leads and deliver CPD accredited training sessions.

No Travel Troubles

Some of the biggest barriers to attending events are travel-related. The extra cost and time it can take, can put attendees, speakers, and sponsors off. But with virtual events, they don’t need to deal with any of that hassle.

Accessible Events

We want to make sure everyone can enjoy virtual events. That's why we've developed our virtual events to include customisable colour contrast, screen reader support, closed captions and keyboard accessibility.

Attendees Get The Full Experience

At a physical event it’s almost impossible for attendees to watch all the keynote presentations and visit all the sponsors. For virtual events it couldn’t be easier. Making the content available on-demand means your attendees can take it all in.

"It has been a huge success, helping us to generate new leads and turn existing leads into successful deals. Being able to engage our prospects with live questions, polls and survey has been key."

Paul Riddle, Head of Marketing at KTSL

What Can Virtual Events Be Used For?

Virtual Conferences

By making your conference virtual, it’s impossible for your attendees to miss a conference session. They can simply log in after the physical event and watch the session they missed.

Virtual Trade Shows

Due to time and monetary restrictions, many people aren’t able to attend trade shows in-person. And when they do, it’s hard for them to see all the talks and exhibitions they want to.

Virtual Product Launches

By running a virtual product launch event, you can showcase your unique product features with crystal clear video, product specialist hosted live chat and links to buy. You can even schedule 1:1 online meetings with interested delegates.

Virtual Open Days

Using virtual events is a fantastic way to make your open days accessible to everyone, no matter where they are located. Your staff can answer any questions and communicate one-to-one with students through live Q&A or chat tools.

Virtual Onboarding Fairs

Virtual Event Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible to incorporate video call or webcam functionality for presenters? ▼

Yes that’s no problem with our virtual events platform. We’d always recommend using a professional camera kit where possible (and we can send you some!). Get the perfect webcam setup with our short guide here »

Can I incorporate virtual exhibition or sponsor rooms into my virtual event? ▼

Yes, absolutely. We understand sponsors are what make events tick, so our virtual events include the option to showcase sponsors with their own booths, breakout rooms and more. We have a variety of options and ideas to make sure sponsors get the brand awareness they desire.

Can I charge my virtual event attendees? ▼

Of course! You need to be confident that you are producing content that has sufficient appeal to your audience to justify a price-tag, but there’s no reason not to charge for access if, for example, you’re live-streaming parts of a physical event which delegates have paid to attend. streamGo won’t take the payment on your behalf, but can advise and assist you in utilising your existing payment gateway or setting up another simple payment option.

Can my virtual event look like my brand? ▼

It can, and it should. Your virtual  event should represent your brand at any and every available attendee touch-point. Your registration page, virtual event page, reminder emails and URL all look and feel just like your own. Our virtual events platform is set up to make sure your brand and content takes centre stage.

How long does it take to set up a virtual event? ▼

The streamGo virtual events team can turn things around pretty quickly. We’ve even managed within 48 hours, but the important factor here is allowing time to market your virtual event effectively. Okay, if it’s internal communications then you already know who you will be inviting, but it’s still good to give people enough notice to get the virtual event in their diaries, to maximise attendance. Four to six weeks is usually a good amount of time to allow for promotion.

How can I keep my audience engaged during my virtual event? ▼

Keeping the audience engaged is every bit as important as getting them to attend in the first place, so we recommend making your virtual event interactive. Luckily for you our virtual events platform has these features built-in.

Live polling is a great way to get an instant snapshot of your attendees’ thoughts on a certain topic, and you can display the results immediately on closing the poll – just be prepared for the results not to be what you expect!

Q&A sessions at the end of a virtual event are also important to allow attendees to interact, and our reporting platform tracks every question asked, so even if you can’t cover each one in the live event, it’s a great resource and way to engage with the attendee after the event.

How do I know how successful my virtual event has been? ▼

Our virtual events platform provides reports for all of the metrics you’d need, from registrations, attendees, questions and clicks to average view and session times.

We also work closely with our clients to understand, from the outset, what the key goals of each virtual event are, and provide advice and guidance to help clients maximise the ROI from every virtual event. Your success is our success.

Can I make my virtual event available on-demand? ▼

Sure thing – we all know your attendees won’t all be able to make the live event, so making the content available on-demand is both good manners  and great business.

Our reporting allows you to see analytics on both the live and on-demand events separately, so you get a great understanding of when and how your attendees view your event.

Can I use virtual events for virtual breakout rooms or ‘speed dating’ style sessions? ▼

Yes, close-knit breakout sessions are important for your attendees to get the best understanding of key topics. Hosting a “virtual breakout session” during your event is a great way to connect attendees with product or topic specialists.

Can I run one-to-one meetings or VOIP calls during virtual events? ▼

Yes, users can be put into separate meeting rooms or given a unique link for them to use to make a meeting room. Or users can use VOIP to make a call to each other from the chat widget.

Virtual Event Video Q&A

We asked for your questions about virtual events and you sent them in. Lots of them. And then some more. So many than we made a virtual event q&a video to answer them.

So, to find out the answers, watch the video on the right in full, or, click here to see a breakdown of the video into separate questions.
